Tom was born on the 3rd December 1912 at 23 Old Coleham, Shrewsbury,
the second child of John Charles and Martha Emma Williams.

On the 29th March 1934 Tom was sworn in as a Freeman of Shrewsbury.
On 17th December 1939 at The Register Office, Shrewsbury, Tom married Sylvia SIDES

They lived for a while with Ted and Edith Digwood before moving to 'Lyndene', a tiny bungalow in Montford Bridge, a small village just outside of Shrewsbury, where they lived between 1939 and 1965 and brought up their family of four children.

Tom was in the military from 1940 to 1944 serving in the Home Guard, where he and Charlie Walker protected Montford Bridge from invasion by the Germans.
Harveys at Frankwell Shrewsbury employed him from sometime just before 1944, where he served an apprenticeship in electrical engineering. He was later employed at Roushill, Shrewsbury by Thomassons working as an electrician, and was then employed about 1950 by Midlands Electricity Board.
From 1965 to Aug 1980 Tom and Sylvia lived at 4 The Crescent, Montford Bridge, Shrewsbury.
Tom died on the 8th August 1980 at Copthorne Hospital, Shrewsbury of Carcinomatosis/Bronchial Carcinoma and was buried on the 15th August 1980 at Bicton Church, Bicton, Shrewsbury, where a stone marks his grave.
Tom and Sylvia had the following children:-
John Robert  born 1941.
Peter Charles born 24th May 1944, died 5th July 2011.
Philip Richard born 1950.
Sheila Mary born 1954.
