Sylvia and Tom lived at 'Lyndene' at Montford Bridge a small village just outside of Shrewsbury, where, between 1939 and 1965, they brought up their family of four children. |

| Sylvia and Tom had the following children:- |
| John Robert | born 1941. |
| Peter Charles | born 24th May 1944, died 5th July 2011. |
| Philip Richard | born 1950. |
| Sheila Mary | born 1954. |
Sylvia and Tom then lived at 4 The Crescent, Montford Bridge, Shrewsbury, from 1965 to 8th August 1980 when sadly Tom died of lung cancer. Sylvia continued to live in Montford Bridge until she moved to Monkmoor, Shrewsbury in 1998. |

| Sylvia died on the 7th July 2007 in the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital after a short illness, cause of death given as 'Old Age' & Osteoporotic fracture of left hip. Sylvia was cremated at Emstrey, Shrewsbury on the 19th July 2007 and her ashes are interred at Bicton churchyard with her husband Tom. |
