Sometime before 1780 JOHN WILLIAMS was born.
The names of his parents are not known at this time, but he is known to have been sworn in as a Freeman of Shrewsbury, Salop,
on 1st November 1806
.

Sometime around the turn of the 19th century, John met and married 'Linda'.
John and Linda Williams had two children:-
William born 1804 in Shrewsbury, Salop. He is known to have been a 'Coachsmith'.
Thomas Charles born 1806 in Shrewsbury, Salop.

Thomas worked as a Coach maker & Painter and was also a Methodist Lay Preacher.
He was sworn in as a Freeman of Shrewsbury, Salop, on the 29th July 1830.
Around 1830 Thomas met and married 'MARY ANN' (born c1806) a dressmaker from Ipswich in Suffolk.

Thomas and Mary had the following children:-
Elizabeth born 1831 at Gaolford St. Lawrence, Ludlow.
Mary Anne born 1833 at Gaolford St. Lawrence, Ludlow.
Thomas P born 1839 at Gaolford St. Lawrence, Ludlow.
Emma P born 1842 at Gaolford St. Lawrence, Ludlow.
William Henry born 1848 at Shrewsbury, Salop. Died 1899 at Hounslow, Middlesex.
Richard Charles born 1850 at Shrewsbury, Salop. Died 1911.

Thomas married twice more,
firstly to Margaret (born 1797 in Wellington, Salop, she was a clerk in a solicitors office)
and then to Catherine (born 1811 in Painswick, Gloucestershire).


Thomas died on December 26th 1881 and is buried in Shrewsbury's Longden Coleham Cemetery, where a stone (shown right) marks his grave.
