2 BLOODY RITE |

In 1993 they went to play at the Beltane festival at Ingelheim in Germany, where the line-up included a female backing singer (who's name I think was Claire) ...There is a video here

JUMP THE GUN |

A change of name and the addition of a Bass player and Drummer (both of whose names elude me at the moment ...), and a repertoire of mostly covers with the occasional few original songs from Stuart led to a more 'solid' sounding band. A change of drummer brought in Richard 'Ferrett' Bett and a more Bluesy direction driven more by Ken and sometimes featuring a friend of Ken's, a passionate singer songwriter called Neville Pass on vocals. |
Unfortunately playing mostly Blues and mostly covers didn't suit Stuart as he was and still is firstly a singer/songwriter and this band subsequently collapsed. The remnants were briefly reformed as 'Blue Memories' featuring Dave on Bass and some vocals, Ken on Lead Guitar, Ferret on Drums and Nev on Lead Vocals and Rythm Guitar. Playing mostly old blues classics and some songs written by Nev they played a few gigs around Shrewsbury before concentrating more on recording at Dave's studio. ‘Blue Memories’ released a CD called ‘Blue Memories’ with Dave on Keyboards, Flute and Bass and featured a song written by him called ‘Ghosts on Tape’ on which he did lead Vocals. Dave Recorded, Engineered and Produced two CD’s by Neville Pass (‘Neville Pass’ and ‘That’s The Way I Feel’) on which he played Flute and Keyboards. |
TWO's COMPANY, THREE's THE CROWD |
---|
The formation of ‘Two’s Company, Three's The Crowd’ (with Dave on lead Vocal, Bass and Flute and Ken on Guitar), saw Dave now taking on the 'frontman' role and the addition of three female backing singers, (Sheila, Gaynor and Alex) led to a much more pop orientated direction. |
Gaynor sang lead vocals on many of the songs with the music coming from backing tracks over which Dave and Ken played live instruments. Dave and Gaynor also did a duet ... ‘Two’s Company, Three's The Crowd’ played around pubs and clubs in Shrewsbury and Telford in 1997. Dave and Sheila were married in 1999. These days Dave spends his spare time playing and writing songs for Ukulele and making videos for YouTube and has collaborated with Gaynor & Ken as well as Sheila's son Peter on his 'Chili Monster' videos. |
