In early March 2002 I received a copy of a manuscript originally produced by Roy Pledger (Cowton),
sent to me by my mother to help me to research our family tree.
This site is basically a re-working of that manuscript,
with the addition of the results of both my own and Roy's ongoing research,
material kindly sent to me by various people and the addition of extra photographs and charts.
If anyone reading this has any further information on the families that make up the ‘Sunley Dynasty’,
or can correct any mistakes or even provide any interesting stories to add to the text,
