George’s great passion was cricket & in January 2007 he finally retired as an Umpire.

In 2007 George spoke at length to Roy Pledger about his life and Roy wrote this document.

May died in Scarborough Hospital on Saturday 12th December 2009, just a day after being admitted.
She was 80 years old.  She was buried at Seamer churchyard on Monday 21st December 2009.

Sadly George died just a few days later on the 1st January 2010.
He had a massive heart attack and died at home in the early hours, he was 82 years old and is buried alongside May at Seamer.
