Sometime in the early part of the Seventeenth Century, William Stubbs, the son of William Stubbes, married Anne Fordon.
They had the following children:-

WILLIAM Stubbs
Born 1659
WILLIAM (b.1659) married Jane Skelton, (born 1659 at Snainton, Brompton, Yorkshire).
They had the following children:-
William Stubbs
Born January 7th 1671. Died 1762. He married Mary Young.
FRANCIS Stubbs
Born December 21st 1673. Died June 2nd 1726.
Richard Stubbs
Born 1675. Died 1765.
Thomas Stubbs
Born November 23rd 1679. Died 30th July 1692. He married Ann Watson.
John Stubbs
Born March 25th 1683. Died 1773.
Mary Stubbs
Born June 6th 1686. Died 23rd July 1688.
Robert Stubbs
Born March 26th 1689.
Mary Stubbs
Born March 20th 1691. Died April 22nd 1694.
FRANCIS (b. 1673) had the following children:-
John Stubbs
Born 1713.
RICHARD Stubbs
Born August 21st 1715. Died November 17th 1751 at Brompton, Kent.
Francis Stubbs
Born 1717. Died 1726.
RICHARD (b.1715) married Mary Storrey,
(born at Snainton, North Yorkshire, died October 2nd, 1751 at Brompton, Kent).
They had the following children:-
Francis Stubbs
Born 1742. Died 1792. He married Elizabeth Goodall (died 1791).
WILLIAM Stubbs
Born January 27th 1744. Died 21st March 1825.
John Stubbs
Born November 16th 1746.
Elizabeth Stubbs
Born December 12th 1748, died July 25 1821 at Hutton, Yorkshire. She married Richard Marfitt (born 1748 at Thornton Dale, N. Yorks)
WILLIAM (b.1744) married Mary Ward (born c1747, died March 14th 1824).
William and Mary had the following children:-
John Stubbs
Born 1770, Died 1852.
Elizabeth Stubbs
Born January 31st 1772, Died November 13th 1849.
Richard Stubbs
Born October 22nd 1773, Died 1869. He married Mary Cross (born 1775, died 1849).
Mary Stubbs
Born January 23rd 1775, Died 1869. She married Eustace Hopper (born 1778, died 1864).
William Stubbs
Born January 26th 1777 at Brompton, Died October 28th 1843 at Brompton.
He married Sarah Brown.
Ward Stubbs
Born March 21st 1779, Died October 5th 1830. He married Mary Robinson and they had a child:
Jane Stubbs born 1822.
Francis Stubbs
Born October 27th 1781, Died 1872. He married Alice Crake.
ROBERT Stubbs
Born 26th June 1784.
Christopher Stubbs
Born November 18th 1787, Died June 28th 1874. He married Jane Reaton (born 1830).
Early in the Nineteenth Century ROBERT (b.1784) married Jane Consett (born 1781) and they took over the family farm at Sawdon Heights, where they raised seven children :-

Margaret Stubbs
Born 1813.
Born April 1815.
ROBERT Stubbs
Born 20th May 1817.
Sarah Stubbs
Born 1819.
Jane Stubbs
Born 1822.

Jane (Snr) died on 11th July 1842 aged 61 yrs and Robert (Snr) died 8th December 1860  at the age of 76. They are both buried in Brompton churchyard, where stones mark their graves.

On the 10th October 1840 ROBERT (b.1817) and Ann Coultas were married at nearby Wykeham Church. 

Robert was 24 years of age and was working as a farm labourer in Ruston, another small agricultural village near Scarborough.  Ann was also 24 years of age, having been born at Ruston on the 31st May 1816, the daughter of William and Barbara Coultas.  (William Coultas was a native of Ruston and worked as a Glazier).

Robert and Ann had nine children: - ...

Christopher Stubbs
Born 1846. Christopher was a policeman in Scarborough (1881 census)
Mary Stubbs
Born 1848.
Ann Stubbs
Born 1850.
Emma Stubbs
Born 1854.
Julia Stubbs
Born 1857.
William Stubbs
Born 1859 at Ebberston. William was a Soldier in the Royal Horse Guards (1901 census) He was married to Agness (born 1860 in Westminster) and they had three children:-
Hiyra Stubbs           born 1883 in Westminster
Noel   Stubbs           born 1885 in St Pancras
Colin Stubbs           born 1886 in Westminster

In 1843 Robert, Ann & family were living at Sawdon.
In 1850 they were were living in the gamekeeper’s cottage at Crosscliffe near Allerston,
where Robert was working as a gamekeeper.
By 1861 (census) they had moved to Ebberston and lived in a cottage in Low Street (1871 census) where Robert worked for the council as a road-man. Robert and Ann ended their days here, they both died in 1894 within a month of each other and are both buried in Ebberston churchyard.
