Bill and Dolly lived at High Killerby farm in 1927. Bill worked as a foreman at a farm in Barnsley until around 1930-31, when they moved to Coteshead farm at Sawdon. Four years later they moved to The Old Mill Cottage in West Ayton and eventually settled at 29 Lonsdale Place, East Ayton, where they raised their family of fourteen children.
