MARY ANNE CLARK
Mary Anne Clark, the daughter of Richard & Hannah Clark, was born at West Ness on the 14th January 1860 and baptised on the 26th February 1860.
Mary was married three times:-
Her first husband’s name is not known at this time.
Her second husband was William Grice, and they married on the 15th December 1884
They had the following children:- ...
Johnson Grice-Clark
born 1882 at Westow, died March 3rd 1926 at Skidby.
Hannah Ellen Grice
born March 1886 at Westow, died 1969/70.
John William Grice
born December 1887 at Westow, died 1979. He married Ethel Annie Simpson, (born 1891, died 1968).
Sunley Grice
born March 1892 at Westow, died April 17th 1918 in the Battle of the Somme (His name is on the War Memorial in the Village of Westow, Nr. Malton, North Yorkshire.)
Margaret Grice
born March 1894 at Westow, died 1980’s.
Rachel Grice
born 1896 at Westow, died 1913.
William died on June 13th 1889. He is buried at Appleton Le Street, near Malton, North Yorkshire.

Isaac - Mary
On the 15th October 1904 Mary married Isaac Simpson (born January 9th 1870).
Isaac already had two sons and one daughter by his first wife, Mary Sellar :- William Harry Simpson (born 1895, died 1990's), Thomas Simpson (born 1898, died 1952), Mary Simpson (born 1900, died in infancy).
Mary appears to have another daughter called Nora (shown in the photo’s), probably by Isaac.
(It is thought that Isaac later had three children by Mary’s daughter Margaret, though dates of birth & whether he was still married to Mary are not known at this time..)
Isaac died on the 21st March 1952. Mary died on the 3rd June 1953.
