Marion was born in 1935,
the second child of Charlie and Maggie Ditchburn.
She did a five-year apprenticeship as a Tailoress at Storey’s and then Cramer’s,
both tailors in Queen Street, Scarborough.
On the 24th September 1955 Marion was married to John Richard Cowton.
They lived firstly in Scarborough and then moved to Eastfield just outside of Scarborough, where they settled and raised their family of four children.
