Annie Sellers was born in 1857, the first child of George Seller & Mary Smith.
On the 14th July 1877 Annie married Thomas Cartwright, born at Upton, Nottinghamshire, in 1848, son of William Cartwright.
(William’s profession is given as labourer on the Marriage Certificate & George Seller’s profession as Shepherd).
The 1881 census shows them living at Upton, Nottinghamshire with the following children:-
Gertrude E.
born 1878 at Upton.
Christiana
born 1879 at Upton.
Sarah J.
born 1880 at Upton.
The 1891 census shows the family now living at 3 Seely Terrace, Basford, Nottingham, Thomas’ profession here given as a Coalminer, with the following additional children:-
Annie
born 1883 at Upton.
Thomas
born 1884 at Upton.
Eliza
born 1888 at Lenton, Notts.
William
born 1890 at Radford, Notts.
The 1901 census shows the family now living at Lot street, Stapleford, Nottingham.
on Thomas is here shown as being born at Beeston, Notts, rather than Upton, & is listed as working at an Iron Furnace, serving in the Pipe Pits.
Annie & Thomas are now shown to have the following additional children :-
Norah
born 1892 at Basford, Notts.
John
born 1895 at Hyson Green, Notts.
Annie
born 1900 at Stapleford, Notts (presumably Annie born 1883 must have died).
