Evelyn was born on the 28th May  1906 at Pately   Bridge, 
                  the fourth 
child of Alfred and Annie Ditchburn. She never married. 
                  During World War 2 she worked for the  NAAFI.
                  She loved knitting and used to  make berets during the 2nd World War 
                  which she hung in the front  room window to sell.
                  She is known to have worked for most of her life at Boyes  Store in Scarborough.
