CHARLES MICHAEL COWTON

CHARLES MICHAEL COWTON (1929 - 2007)

Mick was born on the 2nd March 1929 at Carlton,
the seventh child of
William and Dorothy Cowton.

When he left school
Mick worked on local farms
until he joined the army in 1949.
He joined the Household Cavalry
and served in the
Royal Horse Guards until 1954.

On the 26th December 1951 Mick was married in London to
ELLEN (Eileen) (O'Sullivan),
born 1932 at Waterford.
(The wedding was attended by Mick's brothers Roy and John)

Mick & Eileen moved to Royston in 1954
and Mick obtained employment at Johnson Mathey,
Precious Metal Refiners where he became a Charge Hand.
When he retired in 1989 they moved to Cayton but in 2001 they moved back to Royston where Mick died in 2007.

Mick and Eileen had two children:-

GILLIAN ANNE

Gillian with Daniel

born 1953 in London.
She married BARRY KEVIN ROBINSON
born 1946 at London (They later divorced).
They had the following children:-

DANIEL JAMES (CURRY)

born 1979 at Cambridge.
Daniel & his partner Melissa Vallely had
twin boys born 2003 at
the Lister Hospital Stevenage at 35 weeks:-

Joseph Daniel Curry

AMY

born 1982 at Belfast.

On the 28th December 2002 at Hitchin Register Office, Gillian married Kevin SWINDLE, (born 1961 at Sunderland). Gillian retained her former name of Robinson and Kevin changed his name by deed poll to Robinson.
