Robert Stubbs Sunley was born at Lebberston in 1873

On 24th November 1897, when he was 24 years of age, he was married at Sewerby Parish Church to LILY ANA COLE. She was also 24 years old and was from Bridlington. (They may have had a son, ARTHUR STANLEY, born in 1898, though as yet this is not confirmed) |

Bob and Elizabeth eventually settled at 115 South Back Lane , Bridlington.

They had an adopted son, DOUGLAS Bolton Sunley, who was born at Scarborough 29th January 1906.
(Possibly Douglas was born to Elizabeth Bolton, there was no record of the father, although a story was told that he came from Bolton Hall in Leyburn where Elizabeth Sunley or her sister were working at the time – many thanks to Pauline Sonley for this info) |

Bob retired from the Post Office on the 18th May 1933 when he was sixty. He was a holder of the Imperial Service Medal.
