On the 16th February 1818 John Bowron of Baxtergate, Whitby, (born 1794),
married Rosanna Caygill (born 1795) at Whitby.
They had a son Robert Bowron, born in 1832. Robert was a jet worker in Whitby & he married Jane Croft.
Robert and Jane had a son:- John Bowron (born on the 6th July 1853).
On the 22nd December 1872 John Bowron married Sarah Beedle
(born at Fylingdales on the 9th May 1850).
Sarah was the daughter of Thomas Beedle (born 1809), a farmer of 28 acres from Fylingdales
and Nancy Beedle (born 1810). (Sarah's surname is spelt 'Beedel' on the birth certificate).
Nancy had three siblings: Elizabeth (1838), Robert (1840), and William (1855)).

John and Sarah lived at Silver Street in Ruswarp (a small village near Whitby),
where John carried on his father’s profession of Jetworking.

On the 11th April 1876 John Bowron joined the Borough of Halifax Police Force.

The family moved to Halifax & lived at 15 Rawsden Street, Ovenden.

John and Sarah were living at 15 Nelson Street, Scarborough in 1891 where John is down as a retired Police Pensioner.

There is a story about him being attacked whilst working as a Policeman.

John Bowron died at 3 Pier Terrace, Scarborough, on the 30th March 1902 from Acute Peritonitis & Cardiac Syncope.
